CUIB Students In Transition Come Together In Thanksgiving.
“The power of the Holy Spirit will overshadow each and every one of you as you open another page in your life”. This prayer was made by the Chief Celebrant Rev. Fr. George Nkeze, President of CUIB while presiding over the 2018 commencement Mass celebrated at the Molyko-Buea campus of the Catholic university Institute of Buea.
Celebrated prior to the CUIB 2018 Commencement ceremony scheduled for Friday December 21st 2018, this year’s commencement Mass was an avenue for the university and its senior students in transition to thank God for His love and faithfulness to the institution and its students in particular.
Describing God as the God of “Heseth and Hemet” meaning someone who is loving, kind (Heseth) and someone who is faithful, and reliable (Hemeth), the Chief celebrant called upon the CUIB students in transition to move beyond the love for one another which is only kind, to a love that is reliable and faithful as God himself does for all. He reminded the students that their success in CUIB even in the heart of the Cameroon’s Anglophone crisis which threatens classroom learning can only be explained in terms of Gods reliable love upon them and the Institution as a whole.
The celebration of Commencement Mass is a tradition of CUIB during which the institution show gratitude to God for its existence and pray for God’s continuous guidance and protection on its students in transition as they take up another journey in life
Present at this year’s celebration were the pupils of CUIB Entrepreneurial Academy and the students of CUIB STEAM Academy who equally thanked God for a successful term and prayed for blessings as they take on their Christmas break.
