Sophomore students of the Catholic University Institute of Buea, CUIB have been called upon to respect the code of ethics of their specialty as they move on to their specific task as young entrepreneurs.
The call was made by Rev. Fr. George Nkeze, president/Pro-Chancellor of CUIB during the 2018 sophomore convocation ceremony at CUIB Molyko Campus in an event that brought together business men and women of the corporate world.
CUIB being an Entrepreneurial University with mission to prepare professional Servants Leaders with spiritual and moral values who will contribute to the sustainable development of their community, sees sophomore convocation ceremony as an important event that act as a transition for the second year students as they take the oath of ethics of their professions and pledges to face their professional challenges in particular and the Business World in General.

The president of CUIB Rev. Fr. George Nkeze during his welcome address pointed out to the university community and the invited personalities that sophomore convocation is a ceremony that brings together Entrepreneurs, the Business and corporate World to witness the transition of the Second Year students into their different areas of Specializations.
The students are mandated to take the oath of Ethics of the deferent profession which they promise to obey and respect the rules and regulations governing the profession of their choice.
Rev. Fr. George Nkeze equally stated that, the objective of the Sophomore Convocation is to prepare CUIB Sophomore students for the new roles which they will assume and the challenges which they will face in the near future, like those who are managing high-technology zones, innovative businesses, among many others
Sophomore convocation alert students on the challenges of the career they wish to take up considering the fact that we are living in a rapidly changing business and corporate world of today.
The sophomore convocation equally illustrates the critical importance between the Society, Corporate World and University Institutions, which are the key players in promoting and enhancing an innovative and sustainable economy in which they operate.
The sophomore convocation had as guest speaker Dr. Ernest Molua, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Ventinary Medicine, University of Buea.
Dr Ernest Molua enjoined the students to take their work seriously and should not give in to unethical practice which may undermine the integrity of their work which may in turn affect the growth of the country.
He told the students that a successful man is he who contributes positively to the nation and above all they should be honest in life.
