Orientation of new students for the 2023/2024 Academic Year in the Douala Campus
Orientation for the 2023/2024 Academic Year at the Catholic University Institute of Buea(CUIB), Douala Campus, began Wednesday October 11, 2023 with new students receiving Official Handshake from the faculty and staff of the Growth Mindset Entrepreneurial University. The President of CUIB, Rev. Fr. Bartholomew Anyanwu, led the event in the company of the Vice President in charge of General Administration, Dr. Ngangoum Eric, the Vice President in charge of Academic Affairs Research and Cooperation, Dr. Felicitas Mokom among others
Dr. Ngangoum,in the opening remarks welcomed the president and acknowledged the support of the faculty and staff towards the smooth start of the academic year. He congratulated the Freshman students for succeeding in the just ended Cameroon’s General Certificate of Education Examination and thanked them for choosing CUIB. He called on the students to make good use of the resources put at their disposals in CUIB to enable them study well. He urged them to respect the rules and regulation of CUIB.
Addressing the Students, Rev. Fr. Bartholomew also expressed gratitude to them and their parents for choosing CUIB. He promised that his administration will do everything to make sure the students have the best of experience at CUIB. Fr. Bartholomew called on the students to be focused and work hard while putting God first in all they do. He enjoined them to think out of the box because they are in a university which promotes entrepreneurship in an extraordinary way.
Dr. Felicitas Mokom, on her part, showcased the overview of CUIB as she encouraged the students to know more about the three main arms of the university, namely pastoral, academic and entrepreneurship which are there to enable students become the best version of themselves. There was also the presentation of different administrative offices put in place to address students’ challenges.
Part two of the programme was orientation at the different schools and departments where the students had the opportunity to know their different lecturers, administrative staff and the different courses they have to register.
