Office of Dean

The School of Information Technology (SIT) was created as one of the four Schools that took off upon the creation of CUIB in May 2010. SIT is particularly proud of its pioneer Head of School, Mr. Azeyeh Xavier followed by Mr Ngatchu Damen, Dr. Felicitas Atabong Mokom, Dr.Achankeng Peter, who with outstanding courage administered the School into a reputable one. Within this period, the innovative faculty members and curious learners formed great programmers and designers of international standards who are making waves at the international level. From the second semester of the 2022/2023 academic year, the school is under the leadership of Mm. Tiako Fani N., as Acting Dean, who works alongside her formidable colleagues in their devotion to changing the face of the Cyber Space in Cameroon and Africa through instilling in Africans the skills to utilize modern technologies towards solutions to critical societal problems.

SIT strives to integrate technology into the social, economic, spiritual, cultural and environmental aspects of its students and faculty. In accordance with the University’s mission, the nomenclature adopted for this unique vision follows the Afro-American Educational system of Value driven Experiential learning. The school has had a steady growth in enrolment with over 100 alumni. About 36% of her presently enrolled students are female and about 12% are international students from neighboring African countries. The school has professional partnerships with foreign universities such as Capitol Technology University (Capitol), a designated Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense, in collaboration with whom it runs the only Cyber Security program in the Central African Sub-region.
