CUIB Boot Camp 2026 Day 2

The second day of the 2026 Boot Camp at the Buea Campus commenced on 23rd January 2026 with an opening prayer led by Rev. Fr. Garvey Zinkeng of the School of Business.

The spiritual reflection set a reflective and purpose-driven tone for the day’s activities, reinforcing the institution’s commitment to integrating moral values with entrepreneurial formation.

Following the opening prayer, Mr. Masumbe Isidore, instructor and staff member, introduced the Boot Camp modules and provided a structured overview of the expectations for the day. He outlined the theoretical framework guiding the students’ business plan development, emphasizing clarity of vision, feasibility analysis, financial projections, market positioning, and strategic planning.

Particular attention was given to the principles of effective pitching—how to communicate business ideas persuasively, logically, and professionally before a panel or potential investors.

The session underscored the importance of mastering both the conceptual and analytical components of entrepreneurship before transitioning to practical implementation. Students were guided through the theoretical aspects of structuring a business plan, understanding competitive advantage, identifying target markets, and articulating value propositions.

This foundational phase is designed to prepare them adequately for the practical component, which involves the formal presentation and defense of their business plans. Later in the day, Level 400 students continued intensive work on their entrepreneurial projects. The Boot Camp serves as a capstone academic exercise where students refine their ideas into viable, market-ready ventures. A total of ten groups, drawn from different schools within the institution, participated in this phase of the program. The exercise demands not only diligence but also creativity, innovation, and strategic thinking.

The participating groups and their respective business concepts include:

  • Skin Ora
  • Bread Bliss
  • Vanguard
  • VEP Extract
  • Accounting Solution
  • Blood Donor System (BDS)
  • Sensus Minds
  • Oncology Docs
  • Rhesus Care Education Hub
  • PAYZAA
These projects span diverse sectors such as healthcare innovation, financial services, education, food production, digital systems, and entrepreneurial solutions. The breadth of ideas reflects the interdisciplinary nature of the Boot Camp and the university’s commitment to fostering problem-solving initiatives responsive to societal needs.

Overall, Day 2 (Part I) of the Boot Camp demonstrates the institution’s pedagogical approach of combining theoretical grounding with practical application. It affirms the university’s mission of forming entrepreneurial leaders equipped not only with academic knowledge but also with the competence to create sustainable ventures capable of contributing meaningfully to economic and social development.
