Senior students at the Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB), Bonaberi-Douala Campus, have been challenged to transition from classroom concepts to market-ready ventures. This call to action highlighted the opening of the 2026 Bootcamp, a cornerstone event designed to finalize the students’ journey toward becoming job creators.
The first day of the Bootcamp featured a high-profile lineup of industry experts brought in to coach and evaluate the students’ business ventures. The training focused on the practical mechanics of launching a startup in today’s competitive landscape.
Helene MUGOB, CEO and Founder of MAHM Consulting Group, led intensive sessions on the Business Model Canvas and the art of Pitching, ensuring students could communicate their value propositions effectively to potential investors.
Comfort Eneke, CEO of Ets ONEKS, delved into the technicalities of Ideation, Creativity, and Innovation. She emphasized the importance of Prototyping and developing a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) to test the market early.
Mme Ayo Lasisi rounded out the expert coaching by focusing on Brand Design, teaching students how to build a visual and professional identity that resonates with consumers.
The 2026 Bootcamp serves as a critical evaluation of the students’ ability to innovate and add value after four years of rigorous entrepreneurial training. This aligns with CUIB’s unique mission: preparing professional servant leaders who possess the spiritual and moral values necessary to drive sustainable development in their communities.
The event was marked by the presence of Dr. Ngamgoum Eric, Director of the CUIB Douala Campus, who observed the students as they pitched their group business ideas. The coordination of the Bootcamp was led by Miss Ruth Enow and Miss Lipong Christell, the Faculty Coordinator for CERI (Centre for Entrepreneurship, Research, and Innovation) at the Douala Campus.
As the Bootcamp continues, the focus remains clear: transforming academic excellence into tangible economic impact. For these senior students, the message from the experts was unanimous their ideas are no longer just assignments; they are ready for the market
