CUIB Douala Campus Celebrates Immaculate Conception with Call to Faith

The Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB) Bonaberi-Douala Campus community gathered today, December 8, 2025, to solemnly mark the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The special occasion brought together faculty, staff, and students for a Holy Mass, emphasizing the university’s spiritual and moral foundation.

The Mass was officiated by the Campus Minister for the Douala campus, Reverend Father Tapang Marious. In his powerful homily, Fr. Tapang delivered a stirring call to the assembly, urging them to prioritize their spiritual journey. ”I call on the students to seek the face of God in all their academic and entrepreneurial endeavors,” Fr. Tapang stressed. “It is through a steadfast spirit and true Christian living that they will find success and remain unshakeable in the face of life’s challenges. You must stay true to your faith.”

The Feast of the Immaculate Conception, celebrated nine months before the Nativity of Mary, is a significant event in the Catholic liturgical calendar, honoring the belief that Mary was conceived without original sin. The celebration served as a moment for the CUIB community to reflect on the virtues of humility, grace, and faithfulness exemplified by the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The celebration underscores the Catholic University Institute of Buea’s commitment to not only academic and entrepreneurial excellence but also to preparing professional servant leaders with strong spiritual and moral values.
