CUIB Freshmen and Sophomores Urged to Embody Ethics and Integrity

During the 2024/2025 Freshman and Sophomore Convocation at the Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB) Douala Campus, students were encouraged to uphold ethics, stay true to their values, and work hard to stand out in their academic journey.

Keynote speaker, renowned journalist Mr. Beyiha Leonard, emphasized the importance of integrity as the foundation of professional success during his address titled “Building a foundation of integrity: ethics as a cornerstone of professional success”

The event began with a mass, led by Rev. Fr. Jude Mbi, Vicar General of Buea Diocese, who urged students to emulate Christ’s examples and avoid immoral activities that could compromise their spiritual life and moral values.

CUIB President Rev. Fr. Batholomew Anyanwu welcomed Freshmen and appreciated their choice of CUIB, assuring them that the university will provide the best training in their respective fields.

Mr. Leonard advised students to avoid bad influences, make good use of university facilities, stay true to their values, and strive for uniqueness, emphasizing that success depends on adhering to ethics and self-control.

The convocation ceremony concluded with the administration of the convocation oath to the students by Dr. Felicitas Mukom, Vice President of Academic Affairs Research and Cooperation.

This event marked an important milestone in the academic journey of CUIB’s Freshmen and Sophomore students, encouraging them to embrace ethics, integrity, and hard work as they strive for success.
