The Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB) Bonaberi-Douala campus has successfully concluded its preparatory activities for the upcoming 2024-2025 convocation and opening mass ceremony. After intensive hours of practice, the event is set to take place on Thursday, November 28, 2024, promising to be a significant occasion for the university community.
This year’s convocation will feature esteemed journalist Behyia Leonard as the keynote speaker, who will address the theme: “Building a Foundation of Integrity: Ethics as a Cornerstone of Success.” This theme underscores the importance of ethical principles in achieving personal and professional success, resonating with the values upheld by CUIB
Freshman students participated in training sessions focused on taking the convocation oath and engaging in the academic procession, ensuring they are well-prepared for this important milestone in their academic journey. The rehearsals were coordinated by Mme Lipong Christelle, Director of Student Affairs, who emphasized the significance of these practices in fostering a sense of community and tradition within the university. She was supported by University Marshal Mr. Bansha Amstrong, along with various staff and faculty members, who contributed to the smooth execution of the preparations.
In addition to the convocation, the second part of the rehearsal concentrated on the opening mass, which is scheduled to commence at 9 AM. This ceremony will serve as a spiritual foundation for the academic year, bringing together students, faculty, and staff in a celebration of faith and learning
As the date approaches, anticipation builds within the CUIB community, marking a pivotal moment for students and faculty alike as they prepare to embark on a new academic year filled with opportunities and challenges
