The Divisional Officer of the Douala IV Administrative District, Michel Oumarou, has called on students of the Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB), Bonaberi-Douala Campus, to remain steadfast in their academic pursuits and completely shun illicit activities capable of derailing their future during the 2026/2027 academic year.
He congratulated the fresh students on securing admission into CUIB, describing it as one of Cameroon’s premier higher institutions of learning with a solid national and international reputation for producing competent, highly disciplined, and value-driven graduates.
“You are privileged to be admitted into one of the country’s finest universities,” D.O. Oumarou told the students. “I urge you to make the most of this opportunity, stay focused on your education, and steer clear of social vices and illicit behaviors that could compromise your academic journey and personal destiny.”
Receiving the administrative chief, the Director of CUIB Bonaberi Campus, Dr. Eric Ngangoum, expressed deep appreciation to the Divisional Officer for taking time to visit the campus community. Dr. Ngangoum reaffirmed CUIB’s unwavering commitment to its founding mission: preparing professional servant leaders equipped with spiritual and moral integrity to drive sustainable development across their communities.
Elaborating on the university’s distinct academic model, Dr. Ngangoum highlighted CUIB’s identity as a Growth Mindset Entrepreneurial University. He emphasized that the curriculum is intentionally structured to nurture an entrepreneurial mindset, training students to graduate as job creators and innovative solution providers rather than mere job seekers.
Assurance of Campus Security
Before concluding his visit, D.O. Michel Oumarou reassured the CUIB administration, faculty, and student body of his office’s continuous administrative and security support. He urged the university authorities to maintain open lines of communication with the Divisional Office and make prompt use of the forces of law and order to address any potential security threats.
The visit ended on a high note, reinforcing the strong partnership between civil administrative authorities and CUIB in fostering a safe, academically rigorous, and spiritually enriching environment for higher education in the Littoral Region.
