CUIB Launches New Top-Up Degree Programmes in Partnership with University of Buea.

The Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB) has solidified its collaboration with the University of Buea (UB) through a new agreement, establishing top-up degree programmes in CUIB’s School of Health Sciences. These programmes will cover nursing, medical laboratory technology, midwifery, and related disciplines. The signing ceremony, held on Friday, 23 May 2025, was presided over by Professor Horace Ngomo, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Buea, alongside a special representative from the Minister of State for Higher Education. In his opening remarks, Professor Ngomo commended CUIB’s leadership for upholding rigorous academic standards and fostering values consistent with those of its mentor institution. He underscored CUIB’s mission to cultivate professional servant leaders equipped with moral and spiritual principles who are dedicated to sustainable community development.

He also highlighted ongoing improvements to laboratory facilities and technical resources to enhance learning conditions. The Minister’s representative urged CUIB to adhere strictly to the agreement’s terms and continue serving as a model institution in Cameroon’s higher education landscape. With the agreement now in effect, CUIB is actively enrolling students for the top-up degree programmes and is fully prepared to welcome its new cohort.
