Continuum Generation Party Wins CUIB Douala VP Debate
The final segment of the 2025 Student Government election activities commenced with the successful conclusion of the Vice Presidential Debate at the CUIB Douala Campus. The debate ended in a narrow victory for the Continuum Generation Party (CGP). Its Vice Presidential candidate, Manna Lorraine Zama, won the debate with a score of 22.5/30, while Nyaba Faith Ikombe Swiri of the African Progress Alliance (APA) secured 21.5/30.
Focus on Collaboration and Manifestos
The debate provided a unique opportunity for the candidates to express their knowledge on CUIB affairs and articulate what qualifies them to lead their respective parties as Vice Presidents. Both candidates were given time to explain their manifestos and detail how they would effectively collaborate with their Presidential running mates to promote CUIB’s mission and vision.
The Director of Student Affairs, Miss Lipong Christell, opened the debate by thanking the students for their participation in the student government activities. She reminded the candidates that their primary role is to assist the administration in providing the best experience to the students.
CGP Offers Gifts to the Institution
During the event, the Continuum Generation Party presented gifts to the administration, which included a trash can, two wall clocks, and three toilet air fresheners. The party stated that the donation was intended to demonstrate their commitment to working with and supporting the university if they are elected. The gifts were received on behalf of the administration by the Campus Minister, Rev. Fr. Tapang, Engineer Nkongho Epey Lewis, and Miss Lipong Christell. The final Presidential Debate is scheduled for Monday, marking the last major event before students head to the polls.
