Academy of Talents (A&T) Teacher

Job Description

The teacher sees to the daily functioning and operations of the classroom ensure the class is clean, and also ensure that learners are present in school and in class on time.
He or She delivers lessons learners to their understanding and capabilities.
He or She maintains a good relationship with pupils, parents and the administration.
The teacher is expected to perform his/her duties assigned to him/her and report to the head teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

  • INTERNAL KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Teaching of pupils
    • Taking attendance of pupils in class every day.
    • Planning of lessons to be taught for the day and for the week.
    • Coaching and counseling of pupils, parents, colleagues, and one-self.
    • Assessment and recording pupils’ performances’.
    • Reporting to the head teacher.
    • Promoting the general progress of the learners
    • Daily checking and responding to mails if need be.
    • Ensuring high standards of professional practice and quality of teaching and learning of a subject.

    HORIZONTAL/VERTICAL RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Teacher-Pupils relationship.
    • Assist health unit by taking sick pupils to them.
    • Teacher performs other duties assigned by school administration.
    • Strong teacher –Parent relationship.

Minimum Requirements

  • ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

    • Knowledge on pedagogic
    • Teaching experience
    • Digital savvy
    • Basic computer skills in Microsoft office

    WORKING CONDITION

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    A teacher is expected to be physically strong enough to complete work task. He or  She is may sometimes be expected to work extra hours or over time if need be.

    ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITION

    A teacher has to adapt to environmental challenges like climate change, noise, and overcrowded classrooms in order to effectively teach.

    SENSORY DEMAND

    Sensory demands can include reading which may cause eye strain and occasional headaches.

    MENTAL DEMAND

    Personal matters should not affect your work. A teacher should be mentally ready to teach.
