Teaching of one of the subjects mentioned above, and carrying out of other academic related activities in the schools
Teaching in all of the schools one of the above mentioned subjects.
a) Academic Requirements A Professor must be a Ph.D. holder, and must have served as an associate professor for at least four years; he/she must be currently teaching and must have published at least four (4) articles in a renowned, scientific, peer-reviewed journal and a book published by an internationally recognized publishing house, and must have successfully supervised at least six post-graduate thesis. The article must not be chapters from his/her own Ph.D. theses. An Associate Professor must be a Ph.D. holder and must have been teaching in a recognized tertiary institute of higher education for at least six years. He or she must have published at least six articles in a renowned, scientific, peer-reviewed journal and must have successfully supervised six post-graduate theses. The article must not be chapters from his/her own thesis. A Lecturer must be a holder of a Ph.D. with at least one year teaching experience as Assistant Lecturer, and must have published at least one article in a renowned, scientific, peer-reviewed journal. A Lecturer could equally be an M.A or M.Sc. holder with at least two years teaching experience as Assistant Lecturer, and he/she must have published at least two articles, in a renowned, scientific, peer-reviewed journal. An Assistant Lecturer is a newly recruited academic staff with a Ph.D., M.A or M.Sc. from a recognized University. An Instructor is a teaching assistant or monitor, who if need be, may be employed to work with a Lecturer, Associate Professor or Professor.
