SECOND SEMESTER SENATE MEETING FOR 2021/2022 SCHOOL YEAR

Representatives of the University of Buea have appreciated the management of the Catholic University Institute of Buea; the Entrepreneurial University, for successfully organizing the second semester examination which marks an end of the 2021/2022 school year.
Prof. Fonge Beatrice Ambo, who represented the Vice Chancellor of the University of Buea, was speaking on Tuesday July 19th- 2022 during the senate meeting which took place at the main campus in Molyko Buea.

The senate meeting also brought together deans, directors, as well as some special invited personalities and was chaired by the President of CUIB Prof. Victor Julius Ngoh in close collaboration with the Executive Vice President Dr. Ngangum Eric and the Chief Academic Officer Dr. Asobo Napoleon.
Prof. Victor Julius Ngoh in his opening remark, expressed his satisfaction for the successful organization of the second semester examination and also appreciated the effective collaboration that exists between the University of Buea and CUIB.  In the course of his remark, he also sent a special greeting to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Buea for his endless contribution to see that CUIB meet up with the terms put in place by the ministry of Higher Education through the mentor university.
He went further in enjoining faculty members to effectively collaborate with their colleagues in some key faculties in the University of Buea in promoting research and innovation at their different schools. 
During the presentation of results for deliberation, Dr Asobo Napoleon explained the circumstances under which the exams were written and pointed out that no major incidents occurred except for the fact that eight cases of cheating were recorded, three of which were in Douala campus and five at the campus in Buea. 
At the level of the general university courses 91.6 % was recorded by Entrepreneurship Training, 98.8 % for languages, 83.6 % for Catholic Studies and 100 % for sports. 
The different schools had the following results 93.3% for Agriculture and Natural Resources, 87.4 School of Business, 79.9 % Engineering and 74.9 School of Information Technology while for the just ended High National Diploma examination, Human Resource 100%, Accountancy 100%, Food Technology 100%, Computer Graphics and Web Design 93%, and  Civil Engineering 79 % .
After the presentation of the results by the deans, the senate welcomed and adopted the results which are now set for official publication to enable the students to have access to their individual results.
Prof Fonge Beatrice Ambo was pleased with the results that were presented and pointed out the professionalism that was displayed by faculty members of CUIB in which she noted that CUIB is one of the few universities being mentor by the university of Buea who are so professional bringing their question for vetting.
In her closing remark she called on CUIB Faculty and Staff members to look at challenges as an opportunity to grow and innovate better as there is no perfect administration without challenges.
She also said the doors of the University of Buea are wide open to CUIB administration and faculty members to explore.

Prof. Ngoh, in his closing remarks, announced that CUIB will be offering new programmes which will be done after the approval of the relevant authorities following the procedures laid down by the Ministry of Higher Education. The new programmes are: School of Health Sciences ( HND); degree programmes to be offered by the School of Arts and Education; School of Journalism and Communication; and, School of Law.
Prof. Ngoh also added that Godinmartins Academy , UK, will, in partnership with CUIB, be running short certification course on Broadcast Journalism, Directing for films and TV, Editing for Films and TV, Factual Program Production, Internet Broadcasting, Studio Lighting for Films and TV, Multi-Camera Production, Single Camera Production, and Sound Recording Technic.
