Board of Trustees

responsible for the general governance and welfare of the university and all interests Board of Trustees is the corporate and governing Body of the Institution that is pertaining thereto including students, faculty, staff and alumni. It is the Board that sets the tone and projects the image of the university by giving the strategic vision, general supervision of the University and its funds and up holds its Mission, Identity and Stewardship as a Catholic Entrepreneurial University. While Board members are not involved in the day to day operation of the university, they are responsible for seeing that the beliefs and principles of the university and its goals and objectives are carried out in the operations. Members of the Board are appointed because of their stature, influence in the community and respective expertise and they pledge to offer their services freely for the good of the University

The authority for day-to-day management and control of the University, and the establishment of policies and procedures for the educational program and other operations of the University are delegated by the Board to the President, the University’s Chief Executive Officer. This delegation of authority requires that the Board rely on the judgment and decisions of those who operate under its authority. However, this reliance of the Board is based upon its continuing awareness of the operations of the University. Therefore, the
Board shall receive quarterly reports on the affairs of the University by the President or those designated by the President. It has a continuing obligation to require information or answers on any University matter with which it is concerned

a) Ensure that the vision, mission, identity and stewardship as a Catholic University is respected by all stakeholders in the
university

b) Approving the mission and strategic vision of the institution and the proposals of theb University’s Executive management and Academic boards,

c) Set long-term business plans and key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensure that these meet the interest of all
stakeholders.

d) Helping the Chancellor when called upon to make Proposals on whom they consider fit to manage the day to day affairs of the university such as President and Provost.

e) Appoints and inaugurates the President.

f) The board is also responsible for putting in place suitable arrangements for monitoring the performance of the President and the entire university.

g) The determination of the major goals of the University and the approval of the policies and procedures for implementation of such goals.
h) The review and approval of the operating and capital budget of the University.

i) Work out ways of raising funds for Capital projects of the University.

j) Such other responsibilities as the Chancellor will deem it wise for the Board to act upon
