The 2016/17 admission Season of the Catholic University Institute of Buea (CUIB) was launched today April 21, 2016 by the Chief Academic officer and Provost of CUIB Prof. Wilfred Ndongko.
In a ceremony which held at the emblematic Economy of Communion Village, Prof. Wilfred Ndongko said the enrolment of CUIB has been on the increase from 297 in 2010 to 1,670 in 2015. The increase according to Prof. Ndongko is a reflection of the impact CUIB is making on the educational landscape of Cameroon and the community. Following the symbolic increase in enrolment over the years, he said CUIB is making huge investment in infrastructure and human resources to manage the student population. Prof. Ndongko applauded students who have stood out in Academics and Entrepreneurship urging all members of the CUIB community to continue sharing and believing in the values of CUIB.
The Director of Admission and Enrollment Management Tinife Richard highlighted that following the launch, admission is currently going on for both graduate and undergraduate programs, stating that CUIB now has a permanent Admission Office which will receive and guide students throughout the admission process. He went on to say admission can also be done online for both Graduate and undergraduate programs through the University website. See CUIB Admission Stats
During the ceremony, the Vice President in charge of Student/Alumni Career Services and Development Dr. Felicitas Mokom revealed the service will assist students and Alumni of CUIB realize their career goals through workshops and seminars on how to prepare for the job market as well as helping them pick up additional skills which will help them stand out among their peers. She added that through Student/Alumni Career Services and Development a strong and mutual relationship will exist between the students and Alumni with CUIB. Dr. Mokom told students present during the ceremony that the first workshop on Microsoft Office will kick off on Thursday April 21, 2016 to train students on how to use Microsoft Office and Microsoft OneDrive.
It is of importance to state that CUIB is the only African University to belong to the Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities (ACCU) and was rated among the top Private Higher Institutions by Channing Consulting. CUIB students through the mentorship of exceptional faculty members have won International Competitions like the Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Program and constantly participated in U.S. Institute for Student Leaders on Social Entrepreneurship (SUSI).
