CUIB Celebrates Palm Sunday
The Catholic University Institute of Buea on Sunday 25th March 2018 joined other Christians worldwide to celebrate Palm Sunday. A day which is very significant to the life of Christians as it was the day in which our Lord Jesus Christ received a triumphant welcome in Jerusalem With christens waving their palm tree leaves.
Rev. Fr. George captioned his homily “The palm Sunday of the passion of Christ” .He told the Christians that the parade Christ went through during his triumphant entry in Jerusalem teaches us that in life not everyone will appreciate or celebrate you when successful and victorious; some will like you while others will pretend loving you he adds.
He highlighted the fact that while Christ was receiving applause from the public; others were planning to eliminate him. His passion for fulfilling God’s covenant he adds, finally led him to the cross and that is what Christians are facing today.
But however, Christians should not give up on their challenges for challenges do not kill Christians but make them stronger he concluded. Thus, palms Sunday is a reminder to Christians to know that Christ had challenges and overcame them, so we as Christians should know that if we put our lives in Christ we too shall overcome.
