Inauguration Ceremony of CUIB Mgr. Mauricio West Block
CUIB community today March 12th 2018 witnessed the inauguration ceremony of “Mgr. West Block” and the official opening of CUIB international conference on Technology and Design.
The event took place at the CUIB Molyko campus and brought together Mgr. Mauricio West and his delegation from US, SG at the South West governor’s office representing the governor of the South West Region, the D.O of Buea Sub Division, Regional Delegates of South West Region, Traditional and Religious authorities within the South West Region, principals of secondary schools, and the entire CUIB community.
The president/Pro-chancellor of CUIB Rev. Fr. George Nkeze Jingwa in his welcome address appreciated the efforts of all those who have contributed immensely to the growth of CUIB and reiterated that CUIB gives out education for eternity adding that CUIB play book is to train students to become the best version of themselves in a competitive world.
Rev. Fr. George Nkeze Jingwa also appreciated the supports that have always been provided to the Catholic University Institute of Buea and to the entire Buea Diocese by Mgr. Mauricio West who is the chairman of CUIB Foundation in US and doubles as the Vicar General and Chancellor of the Diocese of Charlotte NC in USA.
The President of CUIB told the university community that naming the building after Mgr. Mauricio West is to show the world the kind of people CUIB model itself with and to appreciate excellence from a man who beliefs in equality, excellence for a better Africa.
Talking to the CUIB Community Mgr. Mauricio West told students to always put their studies first and appreciated the warm reception provided to them by CUIB community and promised to continue supporting the Catholic University Institute of Buea.
Concluding the launching ceremony, the Chancellor and proprietor of CUIB His Lordship Emmanuel Bushu congratulated Mgr. Mauricio West for their initiative in organizing the CUIB international conference of Technology and Design, for it will go a long way to improve on the skills of the students in their different programs as they become the best version of themselves.
His Lordship Emmanuel Bushu concluded by appreciating the supports that the Dioceses of Buea has always been receiving from the Vicar General and Chancellor of the Diocese of Charlotte NC in USA.
